Domain blockages continue, but now not from the side of the RKN, but from one of the most popular domain registrars in the HYIP industry, NameCheap.
We'll briefly discuss the situation that arose with one of the projects and also express our opinion on all of this.
Situation with the project blockage
For instance, here's a translation of a message that was received by one of the HYIP project administrators:
We are contacting you from Namecheap's legal department and account.
Abuse Team regarding your Namecheap "login". It was noticed that fraudulent and misleading content was posted on the following webpage: domain name
We inform you that the domain was permanently zero routed / put on hold and blocked due to a violation of our Universal Terms of Service Agreement. See paragraph 7. "Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)" at https://www.namecheap.com/legal/universal/universal-tos/
You WILL NOT use our website or Services in such a way (as defined by us at our sole and absolute discretion) to impersonate any other person or engage in any activity attempting to mislead other persons regarding the true identity of the user.
Thank you for your understanding. Please find the attached additional details.
The website's operation ceased after this, but the administration soon resolved the issue, moved the site to a new domain, and operations resumed.
At one time, a similar situation occurred with the HYIP project aggregator h-metrics.com.
In general, such cases have been encountered more than once, so being forewarned is being forearmed.
Our Opinion
We believe that project administrators should stop working with the domain registrar NameCheap. Otherwise, if you have a long-running project, there's a high likelihood you will be blocked and your site will become inaccessible.
Try to find alternatives. There are actually plenty who don't block domains.
Yes, you can easily move the site to another domain, but targeted advertising will be disrupted, trust from investors will drop, and most likely, you won't see new investments. Therefore, it's better to approach this issue wisely from the start.
